MAC Cosmetics lovers advice on beginner kit?
If you were to put together a beginner kit compromising of only 5 (6 if u really must) items that you believe are absolute musts to try, what would they be?
mine are:
eye shadow in naked lunch and carbon, MSF in what ever color is right for u,the 187 duo fiber brush, and studio fix fluid
bah i mean comprising...compromising lol
Hmm, tricky question. I'd try to pick one product for each feature.
1. Studio Fix (powder or fluid, whichever works better for your skin)
2. Fluidline (also in whichever color works best- I swear by Dipdown!)
3. MSF in a flattering shade.
4. Eyeshadow in Woodwinked.
5. Lipstick in Hue or Myth (whichever one is more flattering).
For mascara, I swear by drugstore stuff. It's not worthwhile to pay $17 for mascara that you'll end up throwing away in 3 months.
For brushes, Sigma has pretty amazing dupes for all the brushes I'd recommend for a beginner, so I'd suggest getting brushes from there. With the money you'd save, you can buy more MAC goodies!

The MAC brand has a high enough profile to be the choice of Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr of Gossip Girls while on the ground level with everyday Americans (by sponsoring the viral fashion of YouTube how-to-ers).
The MAC brand has an almost rebellious edge that sets it apart from other cosmetics companies. In the past MAC has, just as other cosmetics companies, sponsored fashion week in Bryant Park, NYC.
